BET and the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation (BLHF), founded by Taraji P Henson, announce a Partnership to provide 1 Million hours of free mental health services to the Black community through The Joy Challenge. The duo will be ushering in a 'New Tradition of Mental Health Services & Care for the Black Community. Offering resources, connections, and support, hassle-free, as needed, to help break the silence and stigma around mental health services.
- Free mental health services and safe spaces will be available in community centers, partnering not-for-profits, entertainment and sports centers, urban school districts, salons, and barbershops.
- The menu of services will also be available in non-traditional settings such as Wellness and Respite Containers on HBCU campuses, tv/film set locations, recording studios, locker rooms, Festivals, and Conferences.
The partnership will provide pathways to peace and well-being to ensure that individuals in the Black community can choose Joy Over Everything. We will launch new services in Spring of 2023.
